About two months ago I purchased one datnoid about 1-2 inches long and today I purchased four more around 3-4 inches. They all hide no matter what I do. How can I change that?

Also, I've been trying to get the one I've had longer to eat pellets but I'm scared I'm going to starve him too long. I've been trying to convert him from blood warms to pellets. Any suggestions? I'm a little new with datnoids so all constructing criticism is welcomed.

They are all in my 40 gallon growout tank with an eight inch endlicheri bichir. They will all eventually go into my 180 gallon tank.

try to get the bigger ones on pellets and the little one should follow eventually, Im kinda surprised the bichir hasn't eaten him

i was going to say the same watch the poly as it may take 1 or a few in the night.

there are a few threads about dither fish you could look at i have a few that are only a few cm's to a few inches and sometimes they will hide and other times they will all be out i think they get use to you as time goes by and come out more often

I used tiger barbs with my small dats...i agree that your Poly is gonna eat some eventually.

It has always taken three weeks for my new dats to begin begging for food. I have my lights on a timer and always feed just after they come on. Now they all gather for food whenever the lights come on. They beg all day actually!
