So i just bought a 4-5 inch Delhezi less than an hour ago. When i floated him i noticed he was breathing hard/heavy. I put him in a quarantine tank, but hes still breathing hard, theres food and all floating around, etc. Was it due to the lack of oxygen in the bag? Should i add a air stone? The water parametes should be perfect, had the quarntine tank cycle for 2 weeks so far..

He will move occasionaly, but when he does, he swins for a couple seconds, then drops hard to the bottom.. is it just a new tank shock sort of thing?

Please help! Just bought this thing less than an hour ago and i dont want it to die...

ok, thanks guys, i guess hes just shy, every time i leave the tank he swims around like crazy, but when i approach he hides.

hes just stressed out from the new environment. After a day or 2 his hunger will overcome his stobbornness.

my del ate floating pellets on the first few hours after arrival in my tank.

I also noticed he has a little bit of a redish inflation right at his back bottom fin (Not sure what it called, rectal fin?) Is this normal, or is it just like some type of constipation or overfeeding? (When i got him he was like that, possiby overfeeding at the shop i got him from?)

Also, could it be a possibility that it is actually a female, and she if about to lay eggs? When i had a jaguar cichlid she did that a few times, got a redish looking inflation and a few days latter there were a bunch of eggs everywhere...

Bump for the red inflation..?

Also, hes now all of the sudden swimming vigourasly, like alot faster and harder than i have seen in videos, is that normal in a new tank as well?
