I just ordered brilliant turquise discus, and it's the second day that they have been in my 55 gal tank. I notice that one is layin on it's side every now and then, then it will start swimming normal with the others! Is it stressed or maybe sick?? Please help!!!

At this point I would still say it is just acclimating. Make sure your water quality is good (ie do 50% a water change if you haven't done one already.) Then for now just watch to see if it gets better or worse. (How large is the Discus, and what is it with?)

mine took 10 days to acclimate & start eating, then it was a wild free for all thereafter! mine go on their sides also - when they try to swoop up food under my driftwood or plants! & some flat line pancake style at the surface when they try to get by each other!!

but in your case I agree acclimation & as stated keep up w/c (prime or dechlor for sure & maybe only 25% for now, later can boost to 50% w/c) & don't intro anything new for now. what's your temps? I say go to 84-88. water params? cycled? etc. etc.

give more info & many pros can help you out as they have me!

+1 With Hillbilly, more information is needed. However, it does seem like it's acclamating to the new environments if there's a problem with water or water quality then discus condition would get worst and you would quickly know the difference. I would recommend, in addition to the 50% water change, adding some salt 1 table spoon per 10 gallons of water and keep the light off.
