So I do not want multiple threads on this guy so I will just add to this one. This is a 10inch male Arenal Barred Midas from COTA. He finally came out of his shell and is already eating pellets after a few days. I did put a convict in there that was loaned from my LFS, but I will be taking it back very soon ?. I might add a friend in there with him...but I am thinking more along the lines of maybe a nice Pleco or a Rhinodoras Gallagheri. What do you guys think about one of these cats? I thought about some barred silver dollars, but I have put that on pause. Here are some pics and a quick vid. Thanks for all your help and suggestions MFK.

Hello Wharf Wharf ,
That's a cool looking Barred Midas. Very beefy. Your video and pics are pretty cool too. As for choosing a cat for your tank I'm unsure, but there are a lot of members here who know a ton about cats, maybe they will chime in. GL

Just an update. So I ended up adding 5 x F0 Myleus Schomburgkii (which I know will eventually get huge) and a Male A. Myrnae, and 2 male HRP's. There is also a decent sized L091 (Three Beacon) and a Rhinodoras Gallagheri that only comes out during the night. Sorry the video is from my phone and the brightness is off a bit. The tank is actually much darker than it appears. The Midas (named Willie by my co-worker) has been really cool with his newer friends so far...but hey it could change over night. I just hand feed him the pellets until he's had quite a bit then feed the rest of the tank....worked so far lol.

Just an update of Willie & family from 3 months ago...forgive the blur forgot to turn off Super Steady setting that always blurs vids for some reason. He seems to be getting a little chunkier. The larger M. Schomburgkii are getting as big as my palm. Never see the LO91 and the Rhinodoras Gallagheri, but still doing ok as far as I know.

Stunning Midas!
May i ask about tank size? Looks big
It is a 180g acrylic clear for life...so it's not very big, but it is about the max I can fit in apt. With 5 SD's I think I am pretty full on stock. HIs bars are more pronounced when he's feeding or when he is fired up.
