So i decided to get a jardini and i was just wondering how long does it usually take for it to get accustomed to the tank and eating properly. right now he only eats at night when its dark and he swims in the middle of the tank i thought they liked to swim on top. My fish is about 4" long and he is in a 60g tank at the moment by itself. im also trying to get him to eat pellets is there a special way to get them to eat it.

Try turning the light on your tank on a few hours before you feed them. Jardinis are skittish for a long time, usually until they're almost fully grown. They'll sit on the bottom at times too when they're spooked, it's all normal though. Eventually they'll catch on that you bring them food and be more active when you feed them. Sometimes almost jumping out of the tank as you add food. =p

turn the lights on for at least half an hour before you feed it. if he doesnt take pellets, starve him for a day or 2 and then repeat the process. i feed my jar pellets individually and he jumps for it as soon as it hits the water. he seems to have recognized the bag because he tries to attack it from inside the tank when i hold the bag of food.

kool thanks. i saw him take one last nite for the fist time but he threw it right back out. lol

Try hikari tropical foodsticks. So far most of my aros are willing to accept this foodsticks. Break the foodstick into half if the foodstick is too big for your little guy.
