oh yeah...and what a jerk!!! i fed him some cichlid pellets...he chewed them up, and then spit them out in a million pieces! so what do i feed him? i have feeder guppies....

so the feeder guppies are a no-go as well. he sucks them in and out of his mouth until they are dead and then leaves them. so...i talked to my local pet store people and one of them owns a flowerhorn. CAT FOOD FOR THE WIN!!! he eats it and doesn't spit any of it out!

Crude Protein>=36%, Crude Fat>=18%, Crude Fiber<=3%, Moisture<=11%, Ash<=6.5%, Lysine>=2%, Calcium>=1.1%, Phosphorous>=1%, Magnesium<.098%, Vitamin-A>=20,000 IU/kg, Vitamin-E>=250 IU/kg, Taurine>=0.2%, DHA>=0.15%, Ascorbic Acid(Vitamin C)>=200mg/kg, Omega 6 Fatty Acids>=3.50%, Omega 3 Fatty Acids>=0.45%

And that's the break-down of the nutrients. Very similar to fish food. Plenty of protein too!

Keep offering him the cichlid pellets. He will eventually take them, especially since he almost ate them already.

the guy that feeds his cat food has been doing so for a while...plus i get it for free from the pet store!
