So, just set up my new tank, its fully cycled and yesterday i added my angel and sev fry to grow out. When the fry have grown to a sufficient size i will give them to my LFS for store credit, and then add some GT juvies.

here are some pics of my fry tank, its a 107 gal. I added some vascular plants to reduce algae growth and a few other different types for decoration and for the babies to hide in.

Why did you mix two spawns? It will probably result in less angels due to competing with sevs. Also, It'll be tough performing a large percent of water changes in such a large tank and with gravel which will result in slower growth. 20 gallons in a 107g is only roughly a 20%, but in a 40g its a 50% water change. Fresh water is more important than tank size for growth. It'll also will be very difficult for the fry to find food. Sorry for all the negatives, but It will benefit your fry and your profits.

Midas, i understand your concerns about competition for food. As it stands all the fish, both angels and sevs are feeding well, all have fat bellies and eat constantly. I also make sure all the fry get their fair share of food. Sometimes this takes up to an hour, but i make sure everyone is full. Also on the subject of water changes, i do a 25% water change each day and i syphon the water through a space in my internal filter, where the heater goes. Also it does look like gravel, but i actually have sand on the bottom of the tank. Its of a quite large grain for easier cleaning and such. My babies, both sev and angel appear to have grown extremley fast since i introduced them to the tank i can already notice the fish seem more active and interested in things since they have been in this tank. 12 volt man, thanks for the compliment m8:)

keep up the good work. :D

Thanks for the reply's guys. If any problems were to occur, i can seperate the two species as i got a spare 55 gal cycled and empty. To be honest i just want rid of the babies as soon as they are of an adequate size as i want to get the tank empty and get some GT's in there. Eventually id like to breed GT's but all i can seem to find is juveniles at about 1". My friend has got my 5 GT's in his spare 100g and they are growing well ( the biggest is about 3" now and looks to be a male), but these guys are all from the same spawn so i cant interbreed them, not that id want to anyways. I like to keep species as healthy as poss and try to avoid interbreeding when possible. Anyways, i will try to post some good pics of the growing fry as soon as i can. thanks again for the replys:)
