My new GT (Gold Saum) + growth progression!

I got this little guy from my lfs a little over a week ago. He looked a little rough at the time. Here are a couple shots of him just after I dropped him in my 55. I apologize in advance for the fact that they are kind of crappy phone pics.




He currently shares the 55 with my girlfriend's blood parrot and a common pleco. His stress bars are clearly visible in these pics, which is unsurprising since I'd just brought him home. His colors have gotten a little better already after the first week or so. I'll try to update with some new pics soon. Currently setting up a 75 that will be his permanent home.

EDIT: Can anyone reassure me on the sex? I was assuming male because of the pointed anal fin and the longer pointed dorsal fin.

Any input on whether the fish is male or female? And at what size do saums start to darken up? After a week or so in my tank the orange bad on his tail fin has gotten thicker, and the orange on the dorsal a little more prominent. I can't wait to see how he grows.

4 weeks. Definitely grown some and started to color up a little more. Almost positive this fish is male. He's a little stressed in these ones, and because of the TERRIBLE lighting in my 55 the pics don't say much about him. When my new 75 finishes up its cycle he will be moved in there, and I'll be able to get some nice pics.

Good looking gt. I picked one up a few days ago, I am hoping it turns out to be a gold saum. Keep posting pics, and maybe a video. I'd like to see how he turns out.

Here he is at about five months. He's gotten bigger but is a slow grower an I've been fighting some sort of IP's he came with for at least 2 months

Sorry, I somehow missed or overlooked this thread. What is the fish's size currently and what is the fish's size in the previous photos? Also, is there a way you can provide any pictures that have more of a side profile and with more clarity? Some of the photos tend to be very difficult to identify the fish because of the resolution and clarity. If higher quality photos are not an option, maybe try a more distant shot that is not too far away but at the same time not too close.
