I got this singray in yesterday. Its my first ray. He's about six inches in diameter. He went into a custom tank that is 8 ft long by 2 ft wide, same footprint as a 240 but not as tall. I used the estes ultra grade marine sand in beige as substrate. Planning for discus as future tankmates, but I cycled the tank with a mixture of 100 giant danios, serpae tetras, and columbian tetras. I was able to get most of them out before putting in the stingray, but about 15-20 remain. I guess they are staying (until they are possibly eaten).
The stingray didn't move for the first couple hours I put him in, but then I put some frozen bloodworms in and he came alive. Yesterday he ate 4 cubes of frozen bloodworms. I know what to feed, but I don't really know how much. Today he will be being fed red wrigglers and frozen bloodworms and then thursday I have 100 ghost shrimp coming in from a LFS and will be doing that weekly or bi-weekly. And I will switch to chopped earthworms but for today I have the red wrigglers.
