my new little birchers

well for the first time i went into petsmart. i have heard mixed reviews on the the store itself, but they opened one three blocks away so i decided to stop in. i almost over looked these guys. i bought 2 little guys for 5.99 a piece. i was hoping that was a good price for them. i enjoy them very much. i read a few for the posted threads on them to get a techincal name because at the store they labeled them as dino birchers. they are small now so i have them in a 55 with a 3in jardini growing them out to put in my 100 gallon.

Yea thats a great price, i saw some today when i was in petsmart getting feeders....I just think the 5 incher i have now would eat them lol

thats crazy good price the sengals at the petsmart where i live are 40 bucks a peice

i said for 12 dollars for two why not. they are eating great i had krill on the botton of my tank my jardini didn't eat and they went nuts. there were 4 or 5 pieces on the bottom and in the morning there was only one left there. they keep my sand real nice. the other cool thing is they never leave each others side. i don't know how to sex them or if even possible at there size to see if i have a pair or not

Very cool. I'd say you got a good price, even at a small size.

The ones I ordered I payed $9.99 a piece for.

$6.00 is the avg for them at most pet stores Polypterus senegalus is a great first bichir congrats i am sure you'll enjoy it.

yeah, great fish, that's where i got my one and only p. senegalus, at about 3" at 5.99, mine was hand trained for a little while.
