This is the best pic I could get from 20 mins of sitting by the tank snapping pictures lol, sorry its a bit blurry it was taken from my phone, my camera is not working at the moment. He/She? is a little over 2 inches. Picked up today from my LFS, the owner called it a Red Pearl Flowerhorn. (The tetras you see are in the background picture not in the tank with the FH)

Red Dragon, possible female

:iagree: Prolly a female...even at that size, most males will have a small hump. I bought my FH when he was an inch, and his head was already starting to pop a bit.

no, there are plenty of FH males without a kok. I said probably a female because of the black spot on the dorsal but that is not always 100% accurate.

All afternoon/evening whenever I go see how it's doing it's just cruising up and down the sides of the tank. I fed it some frozen bloodworm about an hour after I brought it home and it loved it. Any tips on getting it to be really personable? (Following your finger, touching your hand, etc.)

I agree with forbinkle it's a female red dragon. Spot in the dorsal indicates female.

It looks like a very nice female, if I were you I'd go back to the store you got it from and look for a male with a kok from the same batch as her.

They only ordered 2 of them, I picked this one because it had longer fins. I'm not too concerned about it growing a kok, I've always wanted a flowerhorn because of the coloration. This morning it has been a little pale. Any tips on getting it to brighten up. My gravel is natural color, I went and got a brighter background but when I put it on it's really dark unless water gets behind it to suck it to the glass. Any tips on this?

most red dragon don't have kok. i used to have a red dragon 5" didn't have hump at all. look at it's straw, if its pointed=male(long pointed fins), blunt=female.
