He was sold as a midas, but there are all sorts of things that keep coming in as midases. He's behaving himself pretty well right now, whatever he is 
he's going to turn white,midas with white bluish eyes usually turn white just watch and enjoy the transformation dont ask me how have not got down too the scientific reason just yet but after dealing with midas cichlid for 15yrs 20yrs in the hobby its never failed.
Thanks for the info. How long does it usually take for the colour change? This is my first midas.
i guess it all depends on the fish i've seen some peel as early as 2,3 inches i've seen some peel at 7,8,9,10 inches.
