My new little Monster...Not a Flower Horn LOL

This weekend I decided that I needed a Red Devil for my tank, so I started phoning around to see if I can find one.Unfortunately all the shops told me the same story " we haven't seen one off those in months".

Monday afternoon after work I stopped at one of the shops near work and asked them if they could possible find one.
The owner phoned one off his main breeder/importers and asked if he could get a RD and unfortunately he told me the same story "I haven't seen one for about 8 months" but he said he just received a shipment off flower horns.

After thinking about it I decided that I would take one as I haven't seen one around here for years and I had tank for 1 show fish.
They said it was a yellow flower horn:nilly: should have known these guys are missing something.

Well this afternoon I got the call to say my FLOWER HORN was in and I could come and pick it up.

When I got there the guy took me to the holding tanks and this is what was waiting for me.

Pics at the bottom (I think)

I think this is the only time in my life that I will be glad Im getting the wrong fish.

He is already at home zooming across the tank as if his been in there for years.
I will try to get some decent in tank shot later, he is still a little camera shy:D.

Please tell me if you know what he will look like when he gets bigger.

Nice looking fish for sure.
 
Looks like my "Banana" when it was young, before it killed my Jack's girl then got killed by Jack. Mine was really yellow with dark black eyes, by the time it was 6" it was orange. (RIP Banana)

Edit: Crap, didnt read your whole post, I had a RD not Flowerhorn.

That's the point of his thread. He originally wanted a RD but settled for a FH but do to the store's mistake he still ended up getting the RD. The wrong fish ended up being the right one!
 
so you got a Red Devil in the end huh? cause i know some sites you can order them from if you need one still but awesome fish!!

LOL! Apparently I have reading comprehension problems. Thats awesome though glad it worked out for you.
 
That's awsome! Great looking fish, lets see what he looks like in water. Mine was that color when he was small.
