Named it Hank. Currently 4 inches including tail. I had been seeking a Mbu puffer for about 2 years now. I had passed up many before him, as they were withering away/not eating. Once I had made up my mind to buy one. After observing him each week for 6 weeks. On my next day off, a Thursday morning at 10am. I showed up to find out to find that the puffer I intended to purchase that day had been sold the previous night!

I found this Mbu on my wholesale list for work. Upon chatting with one of the reps, they assured me he was healthy, and had been eating well. I ordered him. I fast him the first day. He's been eating shrimp since day 2. Also had a snack of snails, and bloodworms. So far seems to eat anything offered. No visable signs of internal parasites yet. And no nips on tank mates yet!

He's currently in a 37 gallon quarantine with 6 Australian red rainbows and a bristlenose pleco. Hes going through a month of quarantine in the 37g, getting fed prazipro soaked foods. Then upgraded to 110 gallon for another couple months to put on size. Once at the 6+ inch mark. He will join my community of clown loaches and pangasius. That tank for him to grow out in is a 305g custom tank. 72x56x18 tall.

Obviously moving to something bigger within the next 2 years. My fish room is already setup in the garage. So a bigger monster tank will fit. I just need to continue planning how I want it. As I think I want 10x4x2

That's all for now. I'll update progress as it goes.

Sam, What happened to your puffer?

I usually soak for at least an hour.

Very cool Cory, I wanted one too but was always worried it would not get along with my rays.. I had no idea you were wanting a MBU, Aquarist World in white center usually had them too..

The problem was, they wanted a high price, and were not always the healthiest. The one I wanted wasnt "for sale" and the other one was shredding tank mates lol.
