My New Monster JAG!

Hey MFKers,

Just a couple of crappy iphone pics of my new managuense,
I was just browsing my lfs when i seen him lying in the corner of a 18in cube tank! Made a decision then and there to take him home, and he now resides in a 4x2x2 with a couple of featherfin cats...

I only noticed this red growth on his left shoulder(?)/fin when i got him into the tank. Can anyone speculate to what it would be?

Sorry for crap quality pics (white squiggly lines are from airation) but he has been very lively since he moved in...

That appears to be a fairly old fish. You generally don't see that body shape. Obviously male. Get a better pic of the fin. Is their an extended "growth" at the base?

Yea it's that same shape that old male Dempsey's get isn't it.

Anyways very nice jag! he's a beast indeed.

It's possible it's stress induced due to poor water quality and high ammonia levels. Water changes and a lil salt should do the trick. Good luck and nice male bud
