So ya just three days ago I lost a beautiful silver arowana the one in my av and lost 165 dollars in the process. I had lost another Silver Arowana just two weeks before that. Same way too, like an idiot. My power head for some reason has a switch on it to make it flow in reverse. Any how when in reverse it creates a suction on the bottom of it and shoots the water out from the head to create a current. Normally it draws oxygen from out of the tank from a tube but I guess the reverse option is in case you lose the tubing. So it draws water from inside. Well my channel cat is a bulky beefy and aggressive eater. In a frenzy I believe both times he bump the switch and set my power head in reverse. Any how both times resulted in both arowanas getting caught in the suction and sucked right into the power head. Both aros were held until they died. I paid 90$ for the first. I paid 165$ for the second. And now 90$ for this one . Man poor judgement cost me big. I of course replaced my power head with a pump and air stone. Should have done this the first time round.

Man the power head when I checked with my hand sucked my hand right in to it. You would think silvers that big could shake loose but I found both hanging lifelessly to the power head :( Wont happen this time. This time I decided to use my brain. Well r.i.p. to the fallen silvers. Their demise was my fault. I'll never use that kind of poor judgment again. But hey that's part of this hobby. You never make money when you a fishkeeper. Maybe a breeder but not a monsterfishkeeper.

LOL! Man I'm telling you, I feel like an idiot because of all of this. Such a pointless death for both. Dam I should have chucked the power head the first time your absolutely right. Anyone need a large silver aro let me know I'll track one down.
