the store didn't know the scientific name, so I'll see if you guys can help me. I think its an ocellaris, but don't know for sure. What do you think?

He's in a 125g community tank for now, but he and an IT Datnoid will be getting their own tank as they grow larger. How much time do you think I have until he gets big enough to eat the bleeding heart tetra's in there?

It depends on how much you feed him. If he eats alot he will grow fast, But if hes a picky eater he wong grow quite as fast..

I give him . . . 2-3 months until that time.

i'll give him 3-4 months before he eats the tetras depending on your care and how big the tetras are...

Thanks everyone. I'm thinking occel, but I guess I'll have to wait till he/she gets a little bigger. How soon can you tell sex on pbass?

I'm looking at an 8' by 30" (W x H) round pool this weekend that I may purchase so that I have something larger to set up in the next couple of months. So hopefully he won't get a chance to start eating the tetra's (although there are 17, so I probably wouldn't notice if he got a couple).

it looks a lot like Shark's cichla "yellow".
Remember Shark's was selling them as ocellaris at the begining??
