I got both of them today. They are about 5" or 6" inch. I was told the were monos. can someone please confirm this for me. The color on the one does not stand out as much as the other. will its colors come out more or are some just like that.
thanks,
robert

i want to agree mono and ocell.. but his top fin is throwing me off a bit... shrug shrug..

p.s. gnarley looking cichla.. they are going to look great when they get bigger ;)

Cichla will change their colors with their mood several times a day and their colors will come out more as thye grow.

Looks like a monoc and an ocellaris to me. Their color should come out more as they grow.

What type are the peacock bass thaat are comminly found in Miami canals?
Some nice ones around here I like to feed them crickets throw some in the canal they take them but they arent as brightly colored as the ones I have seen on sites

They are generally referred to as FL pbass... Maybe monocxocellaris hybrids. I think that a lot of them have awesome coloring.

The ones here from what I can tell have red color. They hide under the huge mats of floating anachris (think thats what its called) .
I have lots extra crickets as breed them in gargage for my geckos the dead crickets or just extras I throw in the canal the fish hit them fast than they go back under the plant mats they seem to hate each other as will fight .
One of the very few cool things about Miami lol
