i have been saving for a while to buy a young group of fonts and bring them on to a breeding group, at the weekend a friend phone me and said he new some one with a wild group of fonts that had to be gone by the weekend. was a 300 mile round trip but for the price it was well worth it.
was a bit of a rush job and need to decor out the tank for them, but the fish are in and all looking good. ph is 7.8, temp is 28 and at the mo im just feeding sinking hikari carnivore for first few days, will be adding plenty of rock and pots for them. Any help and ideas from you guys would be great as it my first time keeping fronts.

ime keeping a ph of at least 8.0 helps a ton. I also prefer to presoak and/or rinse any foods when feeding. helped when i had my f-0 mpimbwe and kapampas.

presoaking food leeches the vitamins and other nutrients from the food.
Unless the concentration of vitamins and minerals in higher in the soaking solution than in the original pellet, that is.

I assumed he meant rinsing foods like frozen krill and soaking things like pellets. That's what happens when I ass-ume. You are right, soaking and rinsing pellet foods is normally unnecessary and counter-productive.

yeah i never soaked pellet before for any other fish, will give them the odd treat of some prawn or mussels every now and then but wil probly stick to the carnivore pellet and nls pellet. have been told that they do better in a lower temp, my tanks at 28, someone said that as low as 25 would be better ? thanks for the help
