I just got back from the fish store. and I picked up these two guys. One is about 8" and the other 9" roughly. They as you can see from the tag were $25 but with my fish club card they cost less then $50 together after taxes. If that price it high I don't care I still like what I got. And if it's a good deal then GREAT lol.

I didn't even go there to pick them up I went to get a pike cichlid but he didn't look as good as he did last week. so I got these two instead. I am not sure the sex. If someone knows plz let me know. And how you can tell. The manager said they had been making nests so it's possible they are a pair. But without a positive sex i'm not sure b/c there was a third in the tank but was far smaller.

Either way they are going into a 125 that Was setup for pseudacanthicus plecos. And I decided that I needed more movement in the tank so I got these two. Enjoy.

P.S. can anyone tell me a little about them. I did the bad thing and bought a fish I don't know much about. They are going to get feed hikari bio gold for now and maybe some frozen. What other things do I need to knwo to get them bulked up?

good lookin fish. i wouldnt mind paying $25 for fish that size

really nice

nice fish. good deal.

Just put them in the tank. they are swimming around very nicly allready. the larger of the two seems to be looking at the surface of the water as if looking for food so I put in a couple floating pellets to see if they will eat. I dought they will so soon but if they do I'll be very happy.

How big will these get? I know they can get the 12" pretty easy. but that's not top size is it?

There's a couple of 14"ers here on MFK.

I don't know how well the other fish are going to fare if those two start breeding in the 125.

That's a good deal, those jags are very nice by the way. Jags that size were selling for $35-$45 if that makes you feel better.

There is only one other fish in that tank with them right now. a L375 and he's the biggest fish in the tank and REALY spiny I dought he gets to much crap from them. And if they get to bad I'll just throw them in the big tank when it's done. also the pleco has a sweet cave he hides in all the time and the others can't fit into it. so he's got good hiding

thank you and that does make me feel good not better. Better was watching the bigger of the two destroy a small feeder fish I just threw into the tank!!! they have only been in the tank for like 10 min and I decided to give them a feed to see what they would do. It took less then 15 sec from the time the feeder hit the water till he was gone. that's nuts so I threw another one in and he's still alive as of now but I dought he lasts long the smaller was eyeing him pretty good when I left the room.
