Sorry about the poor pic quality. Can you identify the species? Also I am aware that my other fish will become lunch.

I see a guinea lap(?), a couple congicus, an ansorgii, maybe a palmas polli.

Beautiful fish and tank!

Thanks for the compliment. Nice work on the identification with the poor picture quality and stressed polys. The large one is a Koliba, Lapradei (Nigeria), Congicus and an Ansorgii. There may be a Polli in there somewhere as I have one in my tank but it was not meant to be in the pictures. I will post updates soon. Their colours are coming in nicely. Also eating hikari carnivore pellets and frozen shrimp, smelt and krill. I was suprised they would eat the pellets so soon as I just got them on Saturday. Thet even ate them on a full belly :O.

i c a palmas polli in the 1st picture behind the plants

Sweet, are these from Toyin? If they are then don't be surprised, he tries to get all his bichirs to accept hikari carnivore before being shipped, but not all can be convinced. Most do though.

I was going to say the Koliba has beautiful color already, even before being fully settled, it's going to be a nice fish!

I'll be looking forward to the updates bizbomb, this is a very nice group of pick-ups!

Oh also, on the sword plants, do you use root tab fertilizers? I'm trying to grow some in my bichir tank to go for that same effect.

Did you git them from Kole? Those cichlids and rainbows will soon become food as the bichirs become settle down in the tank. I'm gonna force Kole to do another BIG bichirs order again. I might get a buetikoferi and a endli endli "Guinea" from him.

Good eyes IloveHebe I didn't even notice him there. Yes the Polys are from Toyin Via Kole (BC's Bichir hookup). I have had the swords now for about 10 months and I only used root tabs when I initially planted them. I also used flourish micro in the water once a week but I haven't used that for months. I noticed the swords would grow taller faster when fighting for light if another plant grew over top of them, and out if they had free access to light. Thanks for the compliments I will update this weekend perhaps. King-El I was tempted by the endli guinea but I figured if there was any bichir he had who may eat my smaller ones (7-8") it would be him. I am still contimplatin it though.

Just feed them with high protein food and regu;ar water change and they will get up to 15-18 inches in no time.
