so i just picked up a Paratilapia Polleni 3 days ago. i am absolutely loving this fish. he is currently 10" and hanging out in his own 55. i just traded in my flowerhorn and got a 5" silver Aro and a 3" oscar. they are in a 29G right now.

my plans were to grow the two youngsters out and eventually integrate them with the Polleni in my 212G i am setting up. does this sound like it should be a reasonable group of fish to live with each other? from what i have read and seen i feel i should be a-ok but want to hear if anyone has had experience with this grouping.

i have raised 3 Oscars before this one, so i am no stranger to them. i just saw this albino with some killer bright orange markings on a pure white body and had to go for it. however, i have not raised an Aro before. i have read alot about them in post and articles on the internet, but not alot specificly about juvies. is there anything i need to be sure and do? things to watch for? things to be sure not to do? i just want to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible. thanks!

I would get that bigger tank soon for your aro

yeah, they will only be in that 29 for a couple weeks. then i wil be moving the polleni to a 75 and put the oscar and aro in the 55

Nice catch with the P. pollini bro!

My experience with these fish is that they are very aggressive; more so than the oscars or silver aro you wish to comm. together.

IMO. you could give it a try when the fish are of "more equal size" but the likelyhood of the pollini dominating everyone is very high.(monitor closely)

my experience with him so far has been that he is sort of a softy. once i brought him home i popped my 6" flowerhorn in with him to see if by some miracle them would get along. well, my flowerhorn (female) wasn't having it. she started smacking him with her tail and wouldnt leave him alone. the polleni didnt really think too much about it and really didnt seem to care. the only thing that would happen is whenever the flowerhorn would try to push the pollini, it would put its tail right in front of its mouth. the polleni would SLOWLY open its mouth and SLOWLY bite at its tail. it never really got a good bite on her but i pulled them apart just because i knew she would either stress him to death or get herself killed.

from wut ive heard.."MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A TIGHT FITTING COVER"...make sure to cover even open areas you dont think your aro could fit through ,because some way ,some how theres always a risk of him/her jumping out of the tank...other than that good luck.
