hi all,
I've just bought new red bellies, 3 of them but juveniles one, around 2.5" each, and I put them in a 60 gallons tank. Just wandering, how long before they get accustomed with their new environment? well, they wont eat anything yet, and I gave them feeders and worms as a stater. And this is the third day already.
(I had the same piranha before, but they ate like maniac, before died coused of the water poisoned)

I just got mine last wednesday and they are about 1.5-2" and they started eating within 30 minutes of introducing them. I gave them a cube of frozen bloodworms and they loved them. My tank has plenty of hiding places in it (driftwood/plants) so they are pretty comfortable. My water is around 82-84 degrees with a ph of 7.0 and 0.0ppm for ammonia. You might want to check your water and make sure that they have plenty of places to hide just to make them feel comfortable.

cheers, I'll try it, and keep it update, thanks again

wallaaa at last the red bellies wanted to eat,
its all good now, I gave them worms, seems to love it after a few days without eating,
lol, I guest they were starving though,...
cheers

ya its normal for them not to eat for a couple days at first. red bellys usually dont take as long as some others. My elong took a couple weeks before finally eating, and my full grown rb that I kept solo for a while also took a few weeks before accepting food.
