I had to pick this guy up. I feel bad for him, he isn't able to keep his tail up when he swims.

He's probably around 5"...even with part of his tail missing.
 
I've never really seen a loach without part of her tail.
The last image looks like how a dog runs with its tail between its legs when its scared.

I don't know where it came from, but it sucks that someone let that happen. When ever she stops swimming, her tail will immediately sink. :( But, I do already see improvement since I have had it. I am hoping that it will be able to swim better once the tail grows back.

Give her time in your good home with good water conditions she will be fine.
