My new RTC.

hey guys, remember the rtc i was talking about in my previous threads? well guess what, heres the baby!:) sooo cute! anyway, i'm thingking of throwing a Gator gar, aba aba, TSN and a Marble (if i can find one in time) with him.:) i'mma grow em in this tank till they can bash it with the big boys:)

if only i had the cash i'd probably adding a pima... though i'm a bit short! haha! student life!

out of all the rtc's i've had, he's the only one who spends his time up there in the power head...@_@ supposed to be bottom dweller ryt? haha! and that's a feeder inside his tummy!
 
in just six months he'll be a monster in the making.. :D though is a a pure breed though? i'm from the philippines so i have no idea of how these cats really look like. though i've had the privilege of traveling to US thailand and singapore and some other places here in asia... they do keep these monsters in zoos.. and i guess they look pretty much alike:)
 
Thats definatly a purebred RTC...

As far as your choice of tankmates go...I'd be VERY careful about the differances in growth rates. The TSN....might keep pace with him but the Marble won't and would end up bieng an expencive feeder. Same with the gar...I don't have any personal expierance with the aba aba.

You really don't want to get started with a pima. You'll end up either killing it or creating a HUGE problem for someone else to take care of.
 
actually, i've had a pima before and yeap it ended up in my uncle's pond@_@ though i think i'm really well prepared now.. i was able to raise it back when i was 12-14 or so... and i'ts been more than 5 years since then. :)

the marble cat, hmm... perhaps i'm just excited coz it'll be my first. thanks for the info though... i ought to read more about them..=/ but still my excitement prevails!:)) haha! impulse buying? hope not... but i have a few more tanks to spare so why not?:/

The Aba-aba... man. it'll be my first too...yeah, i gotta be very very careful... dont want bloody accidents in my tank.

btw, ya sure the gator gar can't keep pace with this dude's growth rate..?
 
length wise...probubly...but at a much smaller mass than a RTC. might work if the gar started out larger..provided it didn't attack the RTC...

If you like the marbled cat why not look for a MRTC? Marbled / redtailed cat hybrid. I have one and he's quite impressive although difficult to take a good picture of...

i'd love to though i don't think they're already available here in the philippines... i sad that TSN RTC crosses aren't even available here too... perhaps some could do it on their own or have done it? but haven't seen such good crosses from petshops besides of course the oh so popular flower horns...:(
