He arrived today at 2:15pm and the wife picked him up while I was at work. She freaked because when she got home there was water in the box and only 3 inches of water left in his bag. I don't blame rapps for this as so many things could have happened on the way here. She said he was laying on his side when taken out and put into a bucket and she was very worried. By the time I got home all was well and I tossed him in the tank. This guy is pretty sick and my female is already showing off for him.

Superb pick up, my friend. Congrats on being vigilant and following your gut, regardless of the price tag. Kudos.

I have had the female for 6 months. She had a severe injury. She has laid eggs 3 times.

I had a lungfish and he decided to do this. He had been fine but out of all my fish he targeted her one day. It was my fault no matter what.

OUCH. So lots of damage to her underneath. She looks good otherwise. My female turns really pink when he comes near and she is ready to spawn.

That's what's she has been showing color wise since the male was put in a few hours ago

This is my favorite part. My daughter is 3 months old and loves watching all the tanks. We were watching the pair swim for like 15mins

Very cool. My son is 3 months also and he loves sitting and watching fish in the fishroom. Have a divider ready, with a large male like that what could happen is he could be ready and she wont and he could thrash her easily without even blinking. Hopefully theyll take to eachother well but ive heard many stories of amphilophus pair disputes ending in dead females. I commend you for sticking with her when it could have been just as easy to flush her when she got bit.

Thanks fishman09. My wife is the one who saved her and she absolutely loves her. They are my favorite amphilophus. She seems ready to spawn but he doesn't seem like he's ready. May need to a week or so to settle in
