Yessssss

that is it Banded jewel cichlid

cool

thanks guys

Yeah, h. elongatus.
they are very nice fish to have, but can become veeeeeery aggressive.
tankmates?

Unfortunately the tankmates were : parrot cichlid and Flowerhorn and some cory and some kinds of pleco ..

of course the sized were close but the FH is that tank was so aggressive ..

but i found it this morning Very injured ..

and i moved it to the Reserve tank ..

any way i got only one cus i didn't know what it is ..

the last kinds of fish in the LFS were all african ( from Nigeria )

african black knife - elephant nose - rope fish - jewel cichlid - banded jewel cichlid - zebra tilapia - mudskipper - strange kind of shrimp - cool snakehead not the gaint one but some kind i don't know the name .. - and strange kinds of catfish

i think the whole shipment was wild caught from the rivers of
Nigeria

also cus the sizes weren't close .. small sizes with medium with so small sizes ..

plus the prices were soooooooo cheap

the african knife cost 15 Egyptian pounds ( while the 1 US Dollars = 5.5 Egyptian pounds ) so it only costs 3 Dollars or so and it is 15 cm ..

the mudskipper costs 15 pounds too ( 10 cm )

the rope costs 15 pounds too :) (more than 20 cm )

the elephant nose costs 45 pounds ( 13 cm )

the zebra tilapia costs 10 pounds ( 4 cm )

so i guess i ll have to visit the LFS again LOL

snakeheads from nigeria Parachanna africana/obscura.....as it happens i have a parachanna obscura..... P. insignis
