I might take a few days to finish this, but I think it is fun to look back at the start of a new tank and see how it developes. So here is my brand new (at least to me) tank that will hold a pair of Synspillium, at least to start with. It is a 110 gal, 5ft tank. My desk will be right behind it so you can view it from both sides. It might be hard to get stuff down sitting at my desk, but I am willing to take that risk.
The tank.

i have a 5 inch male syns right now.he f-ed up the plans! killed the female,he was going to get a 110,or 125 in the future.but now not sure.i like what you have so far,are you planning on growing out a group? keep a pair?

I'v only had this tank up and running for about two to three weeks. I'v been taking it slow to make sure it looks the way I want it and only has fish in it that are part of the larger plan (unlike a lot of my tanks) Now it has a pair of Synspillium that I just got. Male is between 5' and 6' and the female is around 4', maybe. I found the wood myself, bleached it, let it dry back out, and soaked it and then crossed my fingers and threw it in the tank. You might see a random cyno afra in a picture or two. I have never used or treated wood that I found so I tested the safty on a few of my afras. I know, maybe not the right move, but everything I read said I was ok and the way I used the bleach was alright and safe. And when it was time for the afras to move out they were still doing just fine and went back to the tank next door. I hope to get some pictures of the Synspilliums up soon, but for the sake of you guys I might wait a few days to let them get their color back.

I wish I was able to start them young, but could not find any youngsters. Right now I am crossing my fingers that the pair I have works, If something happens I will most likely start all over and just wait till I find a group in the 1-4 inch range.

Nice, simple, but effective aquascaping ! Hope the pairing works out !

Nice looks alot better with a lick of paint on the cabinet etc aswell.

Good Luck.

Thanks Darren.
