Im going for a new tank setup, im moving from peacock bass to raising cichlids.
I just wanted to hear suggestions on what cichlid fish would be easy-moderate in taking care and a fun fish to take care of.
Also would clown loaches be compatible with cichlids?
and how many cichlids would I be able to put in a 75 gallon aquarium?

Thank you!

why not do malawi? And yes clown loaches are definitely compatible. 75 gallon? If you want to grow out then probably like 15 if you want to grow and sell when they get too big maybe 25?

Haps and Peacocks area the way to go. They are less agressive compared toe the readily avialable Mbuna. I find them to be very easy to care for. I would think 12 large chichlids would be okay but can fill the tank up with small ones. You will loose cichlids along the way. I had a six inch stunning red empress jump out the tank and died for no reason! I'm getting the tank covered however for future reference.

75g is a little small for most full grown haps but you could do mbuna or peacocks. Clown loaches can be a hit or miss. I tried them with my smaller mbuna and they killed them. I would instead try some synodontis petricola

if you're gonna run a 75G, i suggest either doing Mbuna or Peacock tank.

with Mbuna, you can do at least 3 species MAX or you can do a single/double species tank.

with peacocks, you can go with an all male tank(but that's always a miss or hit attempt)

you can also go with peacocks and add yellow labs.
