Or Chocolate cichlid,i just got him about an hour ago,he is about 2 inches. He is getting used to my tank, but my little Firemouth (1 inch)is harrassing him a bit,but i am sure once the Temp gets sick of it he will let the Firemouth know.Anyone own 1 of these guys??How about some pics??:nilly:

Great fish. I've owned three. Two I bought full grown and kept them for about 6 years before they died. My current one is a little over a year old and he is around 5 to 6" Still no hump on the head yet but I'm hoping it will develop soon. My current guy is an absolute pig! He eats everything he can stuff in his mouth. Search my name and you will find a pic of him. I would post it but I'm on dialup at home. ugh! How bout some pics from you?

I have ownd them..there pretty cool

They can get to be about 12" or so. This is my current little guy, bought him when he was about 2" and now he's about 5". His name is Bernie ;)

Yep,thats what i got only smaller,i love the red on its fins, looks like it could be a future "Monster",least i hope they are.My kids named him Poppi(as in Big Poppi)of Red Sox fame.

Chocolates are not highley aggressive fish. If kept with likes of Viejas or Tetras or any of the more aggressives it will likely not survive. The tend to stress easier. They are a beutiful fish just a little more docile

I have two. I got them from Rapps as tiny babies last fall and now they are 6-7" long. One is developing a big ole hump. They are gorgeous, but bullies (in my tank, anyway). They eat voraciously, change colors a lot, and at night when it's completely dark they put on "camo." They're really cool fish--I bought them as an afterthought when I ordered my Hoplarchus psittacus, but I'm glad I got them.

I'll post pictures of them soon. The one with the hump is really getting nice looking--red, purple, and green.

Here is mine.
