So cruising through the lfs yesterday, I happened upon this fellow. He is about 6" long right now. The lfs said someone had brought him in because they couldnt house such a mean fish so I got him for free.

Problem is, since we have gotten him home he has done nothing but loaf around on the bottom of the tank, he isn't interested in food or anything. Should I worry yet, or give him a few days to settle in?

There are no outward signs of infection/parasites and he has a 55 all to himself. Water parameters are all spot on as well.

Give it a little while, it takes some time to get used to the tank and it's conditions. Good lookin Tex!

is the tank decorated in any way? if he is just in a big empty space - - all by himself - - then that would tend to make him even more shy . . .

Put in a pot or something to hide behind. It will most likely start eating within a few days.

We do have gravel in the tank, and ill put in a pot tomorrow. also, as an afterthought...could the lighting be bothering him? We have the lights from our old reef setup on the tank (4x 65w pc).
