heres my new texas i picked up. any useful info is more than welcome. can anyone sex it for me too.

It lookd good:) but its a carpintis not a Cyano. and i think its a female but need better pics, give it another week to settle in and re-post:)
 
freshwater what is that? ive heard of a pearl cichlid is that it?
 
i looked up carpintis and they said its basically a texas but not a true texas, doesnt get as big either so thats a plus. any info would help

I am no expert when it comes to these species but a Texas is a Cyano and they have smaller pearl spangles, here is a few of the carpinits's that i know of and there are other names used such as green, blue, red etc but here they are. Vontehillo, Escondido, Chariel, Lahillas, and im sure there is a few others but you can google those names and you will be able to see the differences between them. Good luck and im sure the experts will chime in soon:)
