My new turtle tank! XMAS!

For xmas i got a 40 gallon turtle tank with a sun bathing dock. Inside my tank i have 2 baby turtles and around 6 guppies for them to eat when they are bigger...

im wondering if i could put any other animals in there?

my friends and brother came up with a few crazy ideas lik

Paroon shark
eel
snails
snake
frogs
salamander
crabs
shrimp

i was wondering what i could put in the tank with the turtles besides small fish for them to eat...
 
What type of turtles? they will need a bigger tank
unfortunately everything you listed either outgrows the tank or will be eaten by the turtle btw paroon sharks grow over 10 feet long so dont get one lol do some research
 
Pretty much with turtles, your only option is other similarly sized turtles with the same habitat requirements. What kind of turtles are they?
 
Ye if they were in a huge tank then fish would be ok but since they are in a very small tank (gonna need to upgrade soonish) then your fairly stuck with what you got if you want the fish to live.
 
well my tank is the biggest they sell at petco and they said it would b plenty for two turtles, they are only 1 inch across lol and i know they gonna get 5 inches or so...

my parents wont let me get a bigger tank then that for my room, its around 3 1/2 feet long

If any thing outgrows my tank i liv on lake and know of a good pond that i can let the fish / turtles go in =(
 
paroon sharks don't get to 10 feet try around 3-4 feet you need to do some research passionate for pikes

your turtles will get bigger than 5 inches or so, think more like twice that size, a 40 gallon will be much too small for two sliders in the long run. also when/if anything outgrows the tank do not release it, it is not only irresponsable but it is also highly illeagal

1. the person at petco was wrong with the size
2. releasing an animal like that is illegal
3. DO RESEARCH
