Hey MFK,

I just picked this tank up earlier this week. It's not my favorite design, but at least it's unique. And since it was free there was no way I was gonna turn it down. What do you guys think? It comes complete with 2 t12 bulbs, and the wet/dry filter and protein skimmer are built into the back. I'm told it's about 40 gallons in total, and the tank sits about 5' 6" high when it's in the stand. I'm thinking about putting some wood paneling over the stand because the formica look doesn't really do it for me.

Also, I'm trying to decide what to keep in it. So far I was thinking a pair of discus, a banggai cardinalfish breeding tank, an octopus tank, or a peacock mantis shrimp. I think I'm leaning towards the mantis....

Yup! Except the viewing window is spherical.

Yeah it's just the front. The footprint is rectangular so it wouldn't work for jellies unless I get some pvc and make it into a pseudokreisel. I don't really want to do jellyfish though because they need to be fed more often than I would realistically do. They are cool though! and since the tank is all clear acrylic you could do some cool stuff with colored LEDs.

Paint it to look like a washing machine, then replace your washing machine with that.
