The Real Norcal
This is a sump I just grabbed off of craigslist for $25

I couldn't find my tape measurer anywhere so I put a DVD next to it to give somewhat of an idea on dimensions.

seems like it can hold a large amount of media.

it has a wet/dry section where the water drips over the bio-balls but it also has a section underneath that where I can put filter media to be fully submerged, and a third smaller chamber where I can put carbon or additional bio media before finally overflowing into the pump chamber.

the pump (power head) that came with it (that I was planning on using) is a "via-aqua" that is rated at 1800 l/h....don't know if thats good or bad.......sounds pretty good.....

I was planning on putting some filter floss or polyfiber in the drip tray, pot scrubbies in the large bottom chamber and some sort of canister biomedia like fluvals or eheims in the last chamber and then putting this on my 250 with my FX5............

what do you guys think?

Sounds like a good idea to me but leave some room for the water to go in. lol

Great find!

You can use scubbies instead of ceramics and get the same outcome for cheaper.
