IN FISH PARADISE
i got a new marbled whipray 2day but she do some strange things ..

she keep going and swimming in the upper water right under the surface and sometimes go out as if she wants to get out to trying to breath ..

there is a small fungi on her tail .

but she stay at bottom for a while too

it is the first time for me to get a whipray and am so afraid if she died ..

what can i do or is she in a bad condition ?

the temp is 29 C first when i dropped her in the tank it was 22 C and i raised it ( nearly in more than 8 hours ) i know this is a foolish thing to do but i got afraid from the low temp ..

the PH near the neutral ...

what do u guys think ?

can't be ammonia never

cus this water is just from 3 days ago ( dechlorinated ) and nth has stayed in it else a FH male for 2 days 100 L with only 1 FH male and for 2 days only .. !

ok then i guess a 20 % WC is a temporarily solution ..

I would try a 50% waterchange first and see what happens and then try to get some seeded filter material and add a pound of non-iodized salt per 100 gallons to your tank for the fungus.
Your temp change over that amount of time wouldn't have caused any damage or that much stress to the ray.
You may need to do large daily waterchanges until the tank is properly cycled.

well i checked it now .. it wasn't a fungi it was something stick in her tail thorn ..

and it is gone now ..

what left that i afraid from it is it's movement is it normal that whiprays get up to breath from air ? or get its eyes in the air and move on the water like croc. ?

Are these the rays that are salt converted to fresh? If so, they excrete A LOT of ammonia.
