my new zebra eel should I be worried

the new zebra eel I bought on saturday has a white spot on its nose don't if it damaged it while burrowing the reason I am a bit worried is that the barred spiny eel I lost had a similar spot on its nose and died of some sort of rot .It is feeding ok but that white spot is bothering me only had it 3 days . I have posted 2 photos of the zebra eel the spot is visible but very small . I have also posted a third photo of my barred spiny eel that had a similar spot but ended up dead .

Don’t look like much in the photos. Could be from hitting the glass. If it’s acting normal and feeding then watch.

yes it is quite hard to see in the photos I added some stress coat as that has aloe vera in it very active only bought it saturday

What are your water parameters and what is your water change schedule?

I do weekly 30% water change ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate I would say less than 5.0 my tank is heavly planted the other 2 eels are ok the shop I bought it from did have gravel in the tank and I am wondering if it got damaged when he tried to get it out the tank

I would just give it time and maybe increase to 50% water changes for the next few weeks. You could be right about the gravel in the LFS tank causing it to be scraped.

yes will increase the water changes to 50% would hate to loose it . They are so smart I target feed them with a transparent turkey baster the tetras were trying to eat the blood worms through the transparent plastic tube but the eels would go the entrance of the tube and suck the blood worms out I can see why the bigger ones escape.

happy to say that white area on the nose has now back to normal colour
