Saturday ended up being a pretty good day for me. My local bait shop was closed so I ended up going to Petco for feeders for my gar.

While the guy was scooping my feeders I decided to browse the saltwater section for any incorrect ID/prices on fish (happens a lot a this store). I saw a moray in a tank without a price and turned out it was dropped off so he was up for adoption.

All I had to do was fill out an adoption form and I am now the proud owner of a Richardson's Moray (Gymnothorax richardsonii). I put him in my 125 for now, but I think I'm going to move him into his own tank because he looks like he could be lunch for some of my other guys...he's only a foot.

I'll post some pics later tonight/tomorrow.

Ok...here are some pics. He's still really shy, so I haven't been able to get a good shot yet.

My wrasse was hanging out in the front of the tank so I got a shot of him with the moray directly below is caudal fin in the background...you can see how little he actually is. My wrasse is about full size...10".

Yeah, I'm glad they implemented the adoption process. I will always support finding good homes for abandoned animals.
