My Nicaragua cichlid

makes me soooo mad... not you.. but your fish is beautiful. ugh. there has been a batch of fry at one of my lfs for over a year. these fish were only 1.95 when about two inches. now the biggest one is like 4 or 4 1/2 inches. they want 5.95 a piece for them, which isnt bad but when i set up a tank for them and got it cycled and all ready specifically for these fish, i went in and the whole tank was covered in ick and like half of the fish was dieing from that or something else. and this NEVER happens at this store. the owner had had the best stock around for like 30 or 40 years. i think he is slipping. but now i dont know if i want to buy these fish because a) i already bought some baby texas cichlids for that tank and b) i dont want sick fish.

so sorry for this rant but im not happy with it. i just spent over 300 dollars setting up a tank with canister filters and everything for these guys and then bam "these fish are not available" ugh.

and this thread makes me want them even more.....

haha sorry! thats bad luck i wouldnt buy them if they are sick but if the guy in the store knows his stuff he should be able to clear it up pretty quickly.

thats a sick fish man i plan on gettin a couple of them when i put up my 150

i recommend them it takes a while for the colours to come out but worth the wait i think :)
