ID on MY O pleez... had him when he was small.. he was black with white stripes, thought it was a zebra oscar but have no idea now...

I had a wild caught that would go black like that sometimes. He didn't have a lot of red on him either.

so thus he stay all black all the time? or he also changes color depending on his mood? like if he still got that stripes your talking about. it might be a tiger oscar, just like mine.

i remember reading something about this oscars, they may temporarly loss their markings on the side as they grow older, its like thier scales concentrate on expanding first to accomodate their body getting bigger, then this markings will appear eventually, but it never happened to my oscar, so i don't have first hand experience. it might also be a hearsay but i thought you might wanna know.

This is a common oscar. They have a pattern when they are small, but it goes away as they grow.
