I have 10 Etroplus maculatus in a 25 G tank. They are an active lot, and there is always a pair or two guarding eggs or tending young in there. Here's a female guarding her eggs which are grey in color and hanging from the inside of the pot on little threads. The male is doing peripheral duty, "mixing it up" with the other inhabitants. I never get tired of seeing these feisty little cichlids from India in action.
