I have my 2 in a 125gl only them nothing else and i found a great way to feed them and keep them active and more fun to watch... I have a pond and they sell these like 8 inch round feeding rings that float ... Well i cut the center section out and i used a section of fishing line and tied it around it and then held it to the front of the tank by putting the string out and over the tanks molding with a few little knots on the end and i used a section of tape to hold it to the molding so the ring stays put now in one place.
And now when i feed floating foods i just put it inside the ring and it stays there and they both come up and eat right from inside the ring it's great!!
TRY IT!!

Also will these two be good in a 125GlL

THANKS

cool idea; none of my bichirs have shown any interest in floating food (not that I've tried it much).

As for tanksize I'm assuming you have a standard 125g, 72x18". If so I'd recommend eventually upgrading to at least a 180, 72x24" considering ornates can grow up to 27". But the 125 should last for a long time

Yeah, 180gal that's what my Endli is going in next year....
I just hand feed my Senegal he sees my hand and takes his food.
Mine have always hand fed too my endli doesn't mind it either. I think some of those numbers on their size may be the biggest caught wild specimens... Im yet to see an endli over 20 or an ornate over 20 . The only way for me to find out is put them in a 500 and keep feeding them like I am.. Sounds fun :) very soon they shall be in a huge show tank :headbang2 (not that their 90 isnt sufficient for right now)

ornate's that grow up to 27" are most probably wild caught. don't expect too much if you have a CB one
