My Ornate's update..

A few months ago i purchased 2 Ornate's and they where like 2 and a half inches or so and as they grew the one was picking on the other and it alwasy had a frayed tail from this well like a month ago now all the sudden they do not fight at all they are big now maybe 7 inches and also I think they are male and female as the one has a very wide straight down anal fin and it's markings on it's body are more noticable and darker and the other one's lighter looking and washed out looking with not that much pattern and it's anal fin is not as wide and also hooks back tawards the rear fin on a curved angle... are these male and female....Also is it posible for these fish to grow and turn into male and female if 2 are only in the tank?

from your description it sounds like male & female. Can't be sure without pics though. Here's a guide for reference:

glad to hear the aggression stopped. When I had 2 bichirs (both males I believew but they're still a bit small to sex conclusively) they fought constantly. Since introducing a third all is quiet on the western front

Ornates i'd probably give 8 months to 1 year to be certain just because of the bigger size. Great to hear they're good
