I rescued him when he was about 2.5"-3" and covered with ich back in august of 2007. He used to look at me when i sat by the tank or walked by and investigate what i was doing, heck he didnt even mind when i did water changes. About a month and a half ago i pulled out the undergravel filter from my tank and he's still upset. If i even walk by or go to feed him he goes in the bottom corner and just sits there:( I dont know if he's afraid of me or just angry for messing with his territory?!?! Ive even tried bribing him by giving him all sorts of snacks, he still sulks until i go away and then he eats! What can i do, its kinda got me feeling bad.

Check your ammonia, nitrites and nitrates with a liquid test tube kit. You quit likely sent your cycle into a tailspin removing the UGF. I'm aware of people saying Oscars sulk, but it's usually because something's wrong. I've got 6 and have never had them freaked out over something different for longer than a few minutes. Better check water quality (and not with the paper strips!).

Im actually over filtered, so i removed them (mainly because i hate how poop and other detrious gets stuck under them). Im running 2 350 bio wheels and an ehiem canister.

i got a new oscar that I though was gonna die for sure it was sulking and hiding so much and he even came arround in no more than a week.

what i'm saying is.... give him time its an oscar he'll ne begging for food soon enough (as long as your water quality is fine like twistedpenguin mentioned)

My oscars have so much personality and are prone to sulking if that helps

It happens all the time ha? When i last moved my O to the tank hes in now, he sulked for about a week? He wouldnt eat much and was afraid when i had to put my hands in the water! Hes greedy as ever now and full of personality haha!!!
