My oscar is trying to kill himself?

I looked in my tank and didnt see my oscar.. I thought he had jumped out so i kept looking and I saw two eyes in the sand. upon further inspection i realized my oscar had completely burried himself in the sand.. I had to dig him out.. he is fine but wtf? is this normal?? Hes about the size of my hand

Mine won't stop trying to fight the reflection of himself in the glass.

My piranhas used to swim straight into the substrate and get stuck there were a couple times I came home to one or two fish tails flapping around with heads buried kinda funny looking

haha my red devil fights with his reflection at the top of the water.

Lol both these situations sound funny, disconcerting of course but funny. Never heard of an O burying themsevles.. i wonder if he could breath under it? Do you have any like cats or anything that would scare the crap out of him?

Geez wish my Oscars did funny things, they are so laid back in peaceful, I'm beginning to think I have a pair.
