As my new Oscar gets more and more comfortable living in his 55, I can't seem to get the fact that he gets much much bigger. So I popped the question to the girlfriend and she said yes, providing I let her do what she wants with the 55. So I'm on the market for a larger tank. What would be a good forever tank for an Oscar, or two because I may try and get another.

200 gallon tank the bigger the better. Tons of deals on Craigslist. 125 there is a dime a dozen people around me throw them away or sell them for cheap. If you're fiancé lets you get something big check out craigslist. I've seen people sell big tanks for cheap. I gave away my 55 gallon for free one of the seals gave and was leaking. I patched it up though with silicone and didn't want the tank since it was a hexagon 55 gallon I got from my father.

I found a 90 gallon, it looks square. For 90 dollars. Just the tank no filter lights etc. not even a stand(i can build a nice one) for cheap. Would that be good for two? I'll try and get the dimensions

Not 2 but 1 yes. 2 you need a 125

Honestly if your going to get a big tank get one that's at least 125 imo. There is a guy local to me while selling a 180 gallon with lights, canopy, stand, filters ,sump and media all for 300 that's without negotiations.

Your 90 gallon is 90 plus lights another 100 plus filter probably 100-200 plus a stand but if your making one it's another 100 let's say. Your 90 gallon tank turned into a 400-500 dollar tank. That's not even including a canopy and without media.

Dang. I wish I could find a 180 for that. I've been looking for 3 months.

single Oscar 90g. 2 Oscars. 145 to 180. all of them involve a fin level water change every week, with a good vacuum, HoB maintenance every other week, canister every 2 months. and you do want a combo of both a HoB and a canister.

if you do not want to, or have the ability to do the required maintenance do not do it. IMHO
