Whenever I do water changes, and Im siphoning poo and draining water my Oscar goes and lays at the bottom of the tank and acts like hes dieing, he doesnt move he just lies there. but as soon as I start filling it and turn my filter back on he swims back up to the topper part and swims like normal. Is this normal, or what?

yes, oscars get "depressed" often when they dont like something that you are doing. they dont like water changes or rearranging the tank. they can deffinatly be buttheads.

nothin really does to my o either, its just right when I start doing that he acts like he's dieing lol

Mine does the same thing once in a while but most of the time he just stares at the vacuum tube with those rotating eyes. Gotta love 'em.

lol most def, I guess that makes sence that they do that when stressed I just thought it was wierd/ funny. My gf is afraid to stick her hand in the tank and if my O gets close she pulls her hand out real quick lol. He also acts like he just wakes up when I turn my lights on which is wierd but I guess that could be because I never use my tank lights I guess to help keep electricity costs down since for some reason my tanks are running our bill up pretty high/ or it was I havent heard anything from my parents in a while about it so maybe it dropped back down

Normal behavior. My oscar loves when I come to the tank with food. He goes nuts. But if I do ANYTHING other than feed, like siphon water, vac gravel, clean glass... he gets blown, and heads to the back corner and lies on his side until I am done. Any time I approach the tank after that for the next couple hours, he doesn't trust that I'm about to feed, and heads right back to that back corner, and lies down again, unless I add food! LOL...
