i am 13 years old and my 10 in oscar hasent eaten for 1.5 days and usually he is begging for food everyday
is he sick or that that normaly happen PLEEZE help

sometimes fish can go on quite the hunger strike. I would not worry as an Oscar in particular will not last too long without food. anything else visibly out of place?

Did you introduce any new fish to the tank recently?

Have you noticed any white stringy poo in the tank?

Is he being stressed by any of the other fish in your tank?

What are the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels?

I'm assuming they must be pretty high considering your large stock of fish in only a 55g.

Since I wrote this entire post, but your other thread got removed before i could submit it. I figure I would write it here since it still pertains.

sorry i was just asking a ? wats the big deal buddy

Threads and posts use up bandwidth and memory to store. Both of which cost Li a lot of money, the amount he spends every month is incredible. The fact the he doesn't charge his members is very generous and I really appreciate it. He doesn't need anymore threads with no purpose or irrelevant post to add to the money he has to spend at the end of the month.

If you look at the top left of your screen under, "Welcome, Baby Bass" there is private messages. Private messages allow you and your friend to just talk without have to start threads. This will prevent unnecessary threads from crowding the forum and allow people who actually need help with their fish get their threads noticed. For example, if everyone just posted like you do. Your thread concerning your oscar's health would probably not get noticed.

There is also an edit option under everyone of your post, so when you only accidentily posted, "He" you could have edited that post instead of having to post another.

Oscars are big drama queens, maybe you moved too much stuff around the aquarium, or removed another fish, that sometimes make them hunger strike.

Other option is that the water quality is bad and they dont like it, that happened to me on an overstocked aquarium.

finally, what are you feeding him? have you changed his diet?

try offering him something tasty or new

Oscars are big babies but to help correctly diagnose if there is a problem we need a lil more info .what size tank is he in , whats your cleaning schedule, what are the amm, nitrite and nitrate levels in the tank. could be any number of things . I would start with a good water change and turn the light off and leave him alone for a bit
