so ive had 2 tiger oscars for about a month they are about 3-3 1/2 in long and are in a 10gal tank.one is attaking the other and has torn him up i separated them and he has healed and i tryed putting them back together and within a minute he was being attacked again is there any way to stop them from fighting?

get a bigger tank or put them in seperate tanks.

Nope. Rare is the case that two Oscars can live together in smaller tanks. The usual recommendation is one, or six or more. So unless you have 400g and want four more Oscars, pick your favorite and pawn the other one off. That's what I would do. Unless you have a lot of big tanks to play with and can house them separately.

Maybe get a bigger tank because they may be fighting over territory. I once had two oscar's living together and it worked out fine.

iono ive kept two oscars with no problem. they are probably fighting over territory or dominance.

They typically only get along if they are a mated pair. Otherwise, one typically snaps and randomly attacks/kills the other.

you sure about that? they are one of the friendlier cichlids under the proper circumstances. people have kept full grown pairs in a 75 with no problem

Yes. Mated pairs can be fine for a decade or more. But throw two random oscars in a box and it's often just not going to work out. They aren't very aggressive, but have a knack for scaring the crap out of each other. This kind of stress is terrible for both fish.
