I have my oscars for the past 3 and a half years...but lately this year i have been facing problems...every time i do a water change my fish dont eat..i understand the stress of ammonia.....but i had never had such problems before.now after a month of water change my oscars are not eating food.i feed them with tetrabits complete.....but lately they dont eat it and sit at the bottom of tank and are too lazy for any activities...the shrimp supply in my region has lately been disrupted due to bad weather conditons so i i have no shrimp supply now. I have four oscras ,two parrots, two cat fish,1 sukercat fish,2 silver dolllars in a 118 gallon tank......please tell me what should i do so that oscars become healthy as before....:cry::cry::cry::cry:

Have you checked your parameters. I know you said you do water changes but all those fish can create quite a bioload. I never had luck with Oscars. For some reason the water around here is bad and they get hole in the head (HITH) and eventually when the hith gets bad they stop eating and die. Hope your oscars don't have this.

just when you do water changes they wont eat? how long has it been since they have eaten? mine pout when i do a water change or move anything in the tank but after a day or so they are eating again

Water changes should not cause ammonia. No ammonia should be present. ecspecially after a water change.
What is a month of water changes?? Your tank is extremely overstocked so you NEED to do at least 50% water change a week plus 3x filtration. The shrimp supply has nothing to do with the health of these fish. Its poor water conditions id say. Tetrabits are a low quality food. Id suggest getting a better pellet. Id also suggest getting rid of 3 of the oscars.
